Superviseur d’effets visuels ainsi qu’artiste visuel généraliste, j’offre mes services en tant qu’artiste indépendant. Superviseur VFX de plateau de tournage ou d’équipe lors de la post-production, je me suis entouré avec les années d’artistes multidisciplinaires talentueux ce qui me permet d’accepter des projets de toute sortes et de toute tailles.
Diplomé du centre NAD en 1998, Jonathan Legris a débuté sa carrière chez Studio 4-éléments, travaillant à la fois sur des projets architecturaux ainsi que dans le domaine des jeux vidéo. Quelques années plus tard le studio Voodoo Arts m’a engagé pour travailler dans le domaine publicitaire. En 2003, j’ai fait le saut en cinéma Québécois avec le studio Media Principia. À partir de 2005, le collectif Montréalais Fx Cartel m’a engagé comme superviseur VFX et artiste visuel sur plusieurs productions américaines. En 2006, le réalisateur Dave Pawsey et moi avons fondé Duplex, se concentrant dans divers domaines comme la publicité, les vidéo clips et le divertissement multimédia tel que le projet Love des Beatles à Las Vegas.
Depuis 2012, je travaille principalement à mon compte sous Duplex Films, offrant mes services de supervision VFX de tournage et effets visuels en tout genre, ce qui m’a permis de collaborer avec divers studios et compagnies de production tels que Oblique, Mikros images, Moment Factory.
VFX Supervisor and CG generalist since 1998, I offer my services on a broad range of projects. Throughout the years I have touched most aspects of production: on-set visual effects supervision, 3D animation or compositing, pre-vis or post-vis or animation directing. From small and large post facilities to freelance work, I have been involved on the production side as well as the artist side of the visual effects world.
After graduating from the NAD center in 1998, Jonathan Legris began his career at Studio 4-éléments, working on 3d architectural visualisation as well as video game content. After a few years, I started working at Voodoo Arts for the advertising industry. In 2003, I jumped over to the Quebec film industry at Media Principia. In 2005, the Montreal-based collective Fx Cartel brought me on board as an On-set VFX supervisor as well as visual artist. In 2006, director Dave Pawsey and myself founded Duplex, specialising in a one-stop shop for directing, on- set supervision, production and VFX work in the advertising and music video world, as well as video projection projects such as the Beatles Love show in Las Vegas.
Since 2012, I’ve been mostly freelance under Duplex Films, which allows me to offer my services as on-set supervisor, VFX producer as well as visual effects artist. In these capacities, I’ve worked with a variety of studios such as Oblique, Mikros images, Moment Factory as well as being hired directly from production companies.
